Hiking around the reserve, our guide stopped and dropped down behind a rock and told me to scan the tall grass ahead with the long telephoto lens I was carrying. I saw something in the grass and we moved slowly and crawled closer. I saw the tufts of ear hair raise from the ground and a hissing roar stopped us in our tracks.
