Mark D Phillips has photographed animals and nature in natural habitats, zoos and National Parks around the world.
In 1987, as a young photographer, I was given the opportunity to document the creation of Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida. The original city zoo of Tampa kept all the animals in cages, the new zoo would be state-of-the-art natural habitats designed for the animals.
So began my love of photographing the beautiful animals sharing our world and the habitats that are our home.
Tampa, Florida, also had Busch Garden which had its own open zoo, the 65-acre Serengeti Plain, where I captured some amazing images as a newspaper photographer, including THREE GIRAFFES and LING LING's BIRTHDAY.
I went on to spend time in South Africa's Kruger National Park, Israel's Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve, and as many trips on the ocean as I can make. I love nature and I love to share my views in my Nature Collection.
